Video: Arman Tsarukyan finds Khamzat Chimaev gaming during fight camp
"Tsarukyan recorded Chimaev playing PUBG and said on his Instagram Stories: "Khamzat says: Come to camp, it will be fun, very fun, very fun. Absolutely amazing." Chimaev defended himself, in response: "How else can we spend time in the evening?""
"Apart from PUBG, Chimaev has also talked about playing Dota 2 and Counter-Strike since his teens. "Borz" has finished six of his nine UFC opponents so far. While Chimaev's becoming a UFC champion seemed like a mere inevitability since the beginning, the undefeated Chechen-born took more time than expected due to his early career being plagued by injuries."
Khamzat Chimaev, the undefeated middleweight champion with a 15-0 record, maintains an unconventional approach to fight camp by dedicating evening time to gaming with his team. During a visit from close friend Arman Tsarukyan, the fighter and his entire camp were found playing PUBG, an online battle royale shooting game. When questioned about this leisure activity, Chimaev responded by asking how else the team should spend their evenings. Beyond PUBG, Chimaev has been known to play Dota 2 and Counter-Strike since his teenage years. Chimaev defends his middleweight title against Sean Strickland at UFC 328 on May 9 in Newark, New Jersey.
