"I think she's a great striker. She's going to come at me and try to kill me, I think she's going to be very aggressive. But in those aggressive movements is where I'm going to find my opportunities, is where I'm going to find my hoes. I really just need to get my hands on her, and the fight's going to be over."
"I think that with the most finishes out of any woman, the most submissions out of any women, this will be my fifth win in a row, I don't see why I wouldn't deserve the title after this."
"I think that this has been a fight that has been in the making for years at this point. Mackenzie being such a highly accoladed grappler outside of the UFC, and then me being the submission Queen inside the UFC. So I think it's something everybody's wanted to see, and why not for the belt?"
Gillian Robertson's fight with Amanda Lemos was cancelled in December but has been rescheduled for UFC Vegas 114 this Saturday. Robertson, a Canadian fighter with 16-8 record, views Lemos as an aggressive striker and plans to exploit her aggressive movements to secure a victory. Robertson holds multiple UFC records including most finishes and most submissions among women fighters. She believes a win would earn her a title shot against current champion Mackenzie Dern, another submission specialist. Robertson sees this potential matchup as a long-awaited clash between two elite grapplers in the sport.
