"In December, all of a sudden there was like a sore in my mouth that just appeared, and the commission opted to pull the fight off [the card]. You go through a full camp, get prepared to face a fighter like that, you're ready to go, you make weight, then that happens."
"We improved things even more. We were able to study her game a little more. Just going to stifle her game, not let her impose what she wants to do, and come out with a win."
Amanda Lemos was originally scheduled to fight Gillian Robertson in December but the bout was postponed when a mouth sore appeared and the athletic commission pulled her from the card. Lemos, ranked #5 in the strawweight division, acknowledged the delay was frustrating after completing a full training camp and making weight. However, she used the additional preparation time productively, studying Robertson's fighting style in greater detail. Lemos expressed confidence heading into their UFC Vegas 114 matchup, stating her strategy involves neutralizing Robertson's offensive approach and securing victory.
