The opening round saw clinches and fence work before Bautista gained top control and landed heavy body strikes. In the second round Bautista secured multiple takedowns, pressured with a smothering pace, and capitalized on Oliveira tiring late in the frame. Ground sequences included a crucifix and kimura, which led to taking the back and a tight rear-naked choke finish.
