Gianni Vazquez stepped in on short notice to face Javid Basharat, missing weight and making the bout a 141 lb catchweight. Basharat entered seeking to rebound from two losses and used heavy body and leg kicks early to disrupt Vazquez's rhythm. A sharp right hand counter dropped Vazquez in the first round, but Vazquez recovered and survived. In round two Vazquez landed a damaging right hand but failed to press advantage, allowing Basharat to score a single-leg takedown and finish strong from mount with elbows. The final round featured Vazquez's aggression and Basharat's continued mobility, takedowns and top control.
