Beatriz Mesquita, a 24-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion who transitioned to MMA in 2024 and captured the LFA women's bantamweight title in June, made her UFC debut against Irina Alekseeva at UFC Rio. Mesquita closed distance after early feeling-out moments, secured an outside trip, and landed in mount while landing damaging elbows and trapping a wrist in a gift-wrap position. In Round Two Mesquita shot a single leg, chained it into a clean takedown, transitioned to mount, took the back, and finished with a rear-naked choke at 2:14 of Round Two, moving to 6-0 overall.
