UFC HOFer Edgar unretiring for Bare Knuckle fight

Frankie Edgar, a UFC Hall of Famer, will return to competition for a bareknuckle boxing bout against Jimmie Rivera on October 4 in New Jersey. Conor McGregor announced the news via social media, and Edgar's manager confirmed it. Edgar, aged 43, retired from MMA in 2022 with a record of 24-11-1. He is celebrated as a prominent figure in UFC history, having won the lightweight title in 2010. The upcoming BKFC event will feature other UFC veterans, including Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens.
"I'm super excited to get back in competing, especially here in Jersey," Edgar said of his bareknuckle boxing debut.
Edgar retired from MMA in 2022 with a final record of 24-11-1. The former lightweight champion is one of the most beloved figures in UFC history.
Fighting out of Toms River, New Jersey, Edgar was inducted into the UFC's Hall of Fame in 2024.
The BKFC 82 event, which will take place at Prudential Center, is headlined by two other UFC veterans in Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens.
