"I knew it was going to happen eventually. It was just a matter of when,"
"I don't mind it. It's part of the job. I'm not really fazed by it at all."
"I think she's done an incredible job in her career. I've seen her and we both started roughly around the same time, we fought each other back in Invicta, and she's grown, she's evolved,"
"She's also a flyweight, but she's an incredible athlete, she's an incredible striker. She actually fights this Friday so I'll be tuning in to watch her fight while I'm cutting weight."
Tracy Cortez (12-2) meets Erin Blanchfield in a rematch at UFC 322 in a fight that could thrust the winner into the flyweight title picture. Their first meeting came at Invicta FC 34 in 2019, where Cortez won a split decision. Five years later the stakes are higher and both fighters have evolved into different competitors, promising a more exciting bout. Cortez expresses respect for Blanchfield’s growth and says she is unfazed by rematch attention. Cortez trained with LFA flyweight Aline Pereira to sharpen striking, and will watch Pereira’s LFA 222 fight while cutting weight.
