The Road to UFC Season 4 tournament begins this week, featuring bantamweight and lightweight matchups along with a welterweight bout. The event, held at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, highlights the tournament's role in promoting emerging Asian fighters. Noteworthy competitors include Peter Danesoe, who is noted for his striking and clinch work, albeit with concerns in takedown defense and cardio. Sulangrangbo, another competitor, remains somewhat enigmatic, recognized for his diverse kickboxing and technical striking but lacking experience against high-level fighters.
This will mark Danesoe's third appearance on Road to UFC, but his first as part of the tournament bracket. When I initially scouted him, the main concerns were his takedown defense and cardio.
Sulangrangbo is a bit of a mystery due to the lack of quality tape and weak competition he's faced. From what's available, he appears to be a pure striker-technical, composed, and capable of throwing some unorthodox attacks.
