""Zuffa Boxing, [12 rounds], me and Nathaniel, I'd do it,""
""Only [one] more fight I'd take.""
Dustin Poirier retired from the UFC in July after a pre-announced final fight against Max Holloway in Louisiana. Poirier stated he would accept a single additional bout: a 12-round Zuffa Boxing fight against Nate Diaz. Poirier and Diaz were scheduled to fight in the UFC in 2018 but the matchup fell through, with each fighter blaming the other for the cancellation. Nate Diaz left the UFC in 2022, made a professional boxing debut versus Jake Paul in 2023, later beat Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match in July 2024, and has expressed interest in possibly returning to the UFC.
