PFL: Jay Jay Wilson Downplays Archie Colgan's Unbeaten Record
"It's been a long recovery. To be honest, the worst part about it was not being able to eat,"
"The jaw's feeling good now, the doctor says I've made a hundred percent recovery, which is great. So I'm excited."
"In terms of punching, the first two sparring sessions I was very anxious about it. I was very worried, like 'don't hit me, don't hit me,' kind of thing. And then after I took a couple hits, I was like 'okay I'm fine.'"
"I want to get through Archie, and I want to call out Alfie. I think that would be a good little redemption, which allows me to win the title."
Jay Jay Wilson returns to action at PFL Champions Series 3 after recovering from a broken jaw sustained during the Lightweight World Tournament. Wilson previously defeated Mads Burnell but withdrew before his next matchup because of the injury. Recovery included difficulty eating and initial training anxiety, with Wilson pre-tapping in grappling and feeling nervous during early sparring until he tested the jaw. Doctors have declared a full recovery. Wilson will face Archie Colgan next and plans to call out Alfie Davis as a path to redemption and a shot at the lightweight title.
