Natalia Silva accepted a fight against Rose Namajunas after the UFC offered Rose's name when Valentina Shevchenko could not fight so soon. Silva (19-5-1) expects to set the pace and force Namajunas into a reactionary role from the opening bell. Silva plans to make adjustments during the fight and believes Namajunas will have to adapt to her style. Silva says a win over Namajunas would credential her to fight for the title. The UFC designates the matchup as an elimination fight, with the next bout to be for the title.
