""11 years ago , shared this fight on my Facebook," Mokaev wrote on X. "Watching Sergio way back, one of the best flyweights. And today I think if PFL makes this fight happen it be biggest fight outside of UFC.""
"Mokaev has since picked up wins in Brave CF, 971 FC and Karate Combat. Mokaev became the inaugural Brave CF flyweight champion with a head-kick knockout win over Gerard Burns last November. Mokaev is now calling for a PFL matchup against Sergio Pettis, the younger brother of former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis."
"Mokaev (16-0) has seven UFC wins to his name with four finishes. Meanwhile, Pettis parted ways with the UFC in 2020 after going 9-5 in the promotion. "The Phenom" signed with Bellator MMA and is now in the PFL since it took over Bellator. Coming off wins over Raufeon Stots and Magomed Magomedov, Pettis (25-7) is among the best flyweights in the world, with wins over the likes of Joseph Benavidez and Kyoji Horiguchi."
Muhammad Mokaev was released from the UFC after a lackluster win over Manel Kape in 2024 despite remaining undefeated. Mokaev says he had been warned that his fighting style was not entertaining. He then recorded wins in Brave CF, 971 FC and Karate Combat, becoming the inaugural Brave CF flyweight champion with a head-kick knockout of Gerard Burns last November. Mokaev is publicly calling for a PFL matchup against Sergio Pettis and framed Pettis as one of the best flyweights he admired. Sergio Pettis left the UFC in 2020, joined Bellator, and is now part of the PFL with notable wins and a 25-7 record.
