Marvin Vettori Layoff Was Extended Due To Shoulder Injury
Briefly

Marvin Vettori is set to make his UFC return after a year-long break due to injury, facing Roman Dolidze at UFC Vegas 104. His layoff followed a prior loss to Jared Cannonier and was compounded by a shoulder injury that required surgery. Vettori, excited to return, shared his experience of training at American Top Team and how he adjusted during his recovery. The bout against Dolidze marks a rematch, as he previously defeated him at UFC 286, although he acknowledges Dolidze's evolution since their last encounter.
"Been in Miami. Big booty Latinas. That's what I've been up to," Vettori told reporters with a smile on Wednesday.
"After my last fight I felt I needed to take a little bit of time. So then I changed the gym, I found ATT (American Top Team), loved it."
"I smashed my shoulder. My shoulder came out, f*cking destroyed my rotator cuff, and labrum a bit. Even my bicep. Was (a) heavy surgery."
"Different guy, I fought him already, so yes and no. It is what it is," he said.
