Justin Gaethje Surprised by Paddy Pimblett's Durability in UFC 324 Headliner
""I really, really, really wanted to finish him," Gaethje told the UFC. "I cannot believe that f--er did not go to sleep. I kind of hit him with some big shots. The ones that I hurt him with are the ones that you don't try. I remember hitting him hard, didn't hurt him. And I remember him being hurt and was like, 'What the f-k just happened.'""

Justin Gaethje fought Paddy Pimblett for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324 in Las Vegas and won a unanimous decision after battering Pimblett across five rounds. Gaethje dropped and visibly rocked Pimblett multiple times but was surprised Pimblett never went unconscious despite eating big shots. Gaethje revealed he had desperately wanted a finish and that the punches which hurt Pimblett were not the ones he was intentionally trying as fight-ending shots. Gaethje asked his corner which blow caused the knockdown. Gaethje is 27-5 and is expected to face Ilia Topuria later this year in a title unifier.
