Ex-UFC fighter suspended for cocaine, faces lifetime ban with one more drug test failure
"Justin Jaynes is just about out of chances. The UFC veteran was suspended for 18 months during a Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting on Wednesday after testing positive for a cocaine metabolite in relation to his victory over Marlon Gonzales at Tuff-N-Uff 149 on Oct. 25. Jaynes, who will not be eligible to compete again until April 25, 2027, was also fined $200, which amounts to 40% of his purse for the bout."
""I have a problem, the third drug offense," said NSAC chairman Dallas Haun. "The proposed adjudication agreement I think is fine, but I think we need to add that if Mr. Jaynes comes back for any drug-related [offense] then he will be barred from the state of Nevada permanently, would be my input." The other commissioners agreed with the terms of Haun's proposal, so Jaynes will receive a lifetime ban if he fails a fourth drug test in Nevada."
Justin Jaynes was suspended for 18 months and fined $200 after testing positive for a cocaine metabolite related to his Oct. 25 Tuff-N-Uff 149 victory over Marlon Gonzales. Jaynes will be ineligible to compete until April 25, 2027. The positive test represents his third anti-doping violation in Nevada; previous failures were for marijuana in June 2021 and for the diuretic furosemide in 2024. NSAC chairman Dallas Haun and the commissioners imposed harsher consequences and stipulated that a fourth drug-related offense in Nevada would trigger a lifetime ban. Jaynes fought five times in the UFC (2020–2021) and is 2-3 on the regional circuit since.
