Misfits Boxing removed him from the Dubai card; doctors refused to clear him despite his requests. Danis won Misfits' inaugural light heavyweight title in April and was scheduled to defend that belt. Danis was jumped at the start of UFC 322 by fighters including Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Magomed "John Pork" Zaynukov. Khabib Nurmagomedov left the octagon to confront Danis after UFC 229. Nevada regulators suspended and fined all involved. Misfits expects Danis to return in 2026.
