The heavyweight title fight between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane was ruled a No Contest after Aspinall was poked in the eye late in the opening round and could not continue. Fans at the Etihad Arena reacted negatively, with many leaving the venue. The promotion intends to book an immediate rematch, potentially early in the new year, since both fighters are reportedly otherwise healthy. The organization noted that eye pokes remain difficult to prevent despite glove changes, and a promoter cannot force a fighter to continue after an injury.
