Dad: Aspinall 'can't see anything' out of right eye
""It's not good," Andy said in a video posted to Aspinall's YouTube channel. "His right eye, he can't see anything. It's just gray. [Doctors] tested him on words, and he just couldn't see anything. His left eye is 50%. It went about four letters [down the chart] and then he couldn't see letters. So, one is really, really blurry -- and one is not working.""
"He has covered all of the biggest events in combat sports during that time, including in-depth interviews and features with names such as Dana White, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Georges St-Pierre. He was also a producer on the 30 for 30 film: "Chuck and Tito," which looked back at the careers and rivalry of Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. He lives in Las Vegas, and is an avid, below-average golfer in his spare time."
Tom Aspinall was hospitalized after Ciryl Gane accidentally poked both of his eyes during a first-round exchange. Aspinall was unable to continue and the bout was ruled the first no-contest in UFC title fight history. The right eye currently cannot see and appears gray; eye-chart testing showed an inability to read words. The left eye retains roughly 50% function, dropping about four letters on the chart before losing ability to read. No bone damage was identified. Further medical tests are underway. Aspinall appeared visibly distraught in the Octagon. The UFC intends to rebook the matchup, with timing dependent on medical evaluations.
