"The referee allowed Petroski every opportunity to survive, but ultimately had to step in and stop the fight. It was a massive victory for Cody Brundage, snapping his three-fight losing streak and potentially securing his spot on the UFC roster. Not a bad way to celebrate a birthday."
Petroski applied early pressure in the first round, landing calf kicks while Brundage spent much of the opening moments waiting and finding a rhythm. Brundage mixed in teep kicks and leg kicks to create space. Petroski brought the fight to the ground, taking top position in side control and working to set up a cradle, while Brundage defended against incoming elbows and disrupted the attempt with strikes from his back. Petroski continued looking for elbows as the round ended. In the second round, Brundage came out aggressively, dropped Petroski, and delivered a wild barrage of ground and pound. The referee stopped the fight after Petroski could not recover, giving Brundage a major victory and ending a three-fight losing streak.
