"Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is headed to the UFC Hall of Fame. In an announcement during Saturday's UFC 328, promotion officials announced that Weidman (16-8) will join the Modern Wing of the Hall this summer as part of the Class of 2026."
"Weidman served as UFC middleweight champion from July 2013, when he dethroned Anderson Silva, to December 2015, when he lost the title to ex-Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold. Weidman defended his title three times, in a rematch with Silva that saw "The Spider" snap his leg checking a kick, and against Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort."
"Tragically, Weidman would suffer an injury identical to Silva's in a fight with Uriah Hall in 2021. After extensive rehab, he'd return in 2023, going 1-2 to close out his UFC career. Weidman's last victory came against Bruno Silva in March of 2024."

Chris Weidman will join the UFC Hall of Fame Modern Wing as part of the Class of 2026 this summer. He was UFC middleweight champion from July 2013 to December 2015, winning the title by defeating Anderson Silva and later losing it to Luke Rockhold. Weidman defended the championship three times, including a rematch with Silva, plus wins over Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort. He later suffered an injury similar to Silva’s during a fight with Uriah Hall in 2021, followed by extensive rehabilitation and a return in 2023. His final UFC victory came against Bruno Silva in March 2024. Dana White praised his impact on the middleweight division. Thomas Gerbasi will also be inducted as part of the Contributor Wing.
