Chris Curtis Back to Welterweight, Gets Max Griffin at UFC Nashville
Briefly

Chris Curtis, a seasoned UFC middleweight fighter, will make his return to welterweight for a matchup against Max Griffin at UFC Nashville on July 12, 2025. This decision comes after a tough stint where Curtis lost his last two fights, including a recent stoppage loss to Roman Kopylov. Curtis, who is 37, previously competed at welterweight during his time with PFL in 2019. His opponent, Griffin, is also looking to turn things around after a recent defeat. The event will feature several notable fights, headlined by Derrick Lewis and Tallison Teixeira.
Curtis has lost his last two fights, and was stopped by a Roman Kopylov head kick in his last outing this past January.
Now 37, Curtis competed as a welterweight during his run with the PFL in 2019, fought all over... then returned to middleweight upon joining the UFC in 2021.
Max Griffin, 2-2 in his last four, gets the job of welcoming Curtis back to 170lbs.
UFC Nashville is headlined by Derrick Lewis and Tallison Teixeira in a heavyweight bout, and takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
