Carlos Prates achieved a significant victory over Geoff Neal at UFC 319 with a dramatic spinning elbow knockout. Following his win, Prates expressed interest in securing a fight at UFC Rio, aiming to face top competitors, particularly Leon Edwards. He also showed enthusiasm for a potential matchup with Michael 'Venom' Page, mentioning that their differing styles would make for an interesting fight. Prates is eager to continue training and is contemplating whether to prepare for a five-round or three-round fight in his next bout.
"Bro anybody who step on the cage on Rio 11 October I will be there," Prates told reporters. "The first option of course Leon (Edwards). I'm here to fight against the best guys in the world. Then I can prove I'm the best in the world. Anybody who step in the cage I will be there."
Prates seemed very intrigued by the idea of a matchup with MVP given the different styles they both possess. "It's gonna be good. It's gonna be really interesting fight. He inspired me for a long time. If UFC give me him, that's ok, let's fight," he said.
