"Obviously the news is coming out that no longer am I fighting on March 7 in Vegas. I'm okay, health is good, no surgeries, nothing crazy like that, but I do need to take a little bit, some time off to nurse these injuries that I have right now,"
"It just sucks, where it's not crazy like that, where I don't need to have surgery, but I have to rest it and let it heal and chill and get some physical therapy. I'm going to be on that mission, so that's it."
Brian Ortega withdrew from his UFC 326 bout against Renato Moicano to rest and recover from nagging injuries. He reported that his health is okay and that no surgery is required, but he needs time off and physical therapy to let the injuries heal. Ortega has experienced multiple injury-related stoppages in his career and has not won since February 2024, entering the matchup on a two-fight skid. He remains optimistic about competing in 2026 and plans to fight twice later in the year. UFC 326 is scheduled for March 7, 2026, in Las Vegas.
