Arman Tsarukyan: Khamzat Chimaev immediately offered backup after RAF Brawl
"He just called me right away and said, 'Bro, should I fly out?' I said, 'Don't come bro, calm down.' He said, 'Why didn't you invite me? Whenever there is a fight, you don't invite me. I got to be there.' I said, 'No, no, no, bro.'"
"Khamzat shouldn't be there. Me and Khamzat, we shouldn't be together in fights. For sure he [is crazier]. [You don't see him brawling] because everybody is scared of him. I wouldn't fight him too."
Khamzat Chimaev and Arman Tsarukyan are close training partners and friends. After Tsarukyan's wrestling match against Georgio Poullas at RAF 6, a brawl erupted when Tsarukyan punched Poullas following his victory. Watching on television, Chimaev immediately called Tsarukyan and offered to fly to Tempe, Arizona to support him. Tsarukyan declined the offer, urging Chimaev to stay calm. Tsarukyan explained that having both of them together in a fight situation would be problematic, describing Chimaev as the crazier of the two. Tsarukyan noted that Chimaev rarely engages in brawls because people fear him, and admitted he would avoid fighting Chimaev himself.
