Alexander Hernandez Keeps Momentum Going, Wins Fourth Straight Fight
"After starting his career 10-1, Alexander Hernandez hit a few roadblocks, bouncing up and down between featherweight and lightweight for a bit and trading wins and losses before finally settling in at 155lbs. Now on a three-fight win streak, he faced off against Brazilian veteran Carloes Diego Ferreira at Noche UFC in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday. ROUND 1: Ferreira came out and immediately put the pressure on the historically fragile Hernandez."
"ROUND 2: Right as the second round started, Hernandez threw a body kick, but poked Ferreira in the eye while posting with his left hand. The action resumed not long after. Hernandez was still circling around like he was doing in the first round, waiting for his opening to land a big shot. That opportunity finally presented itself as Hernandez caught Ferreira coming in with a big right hand that floored him."
Alexander Hernandez began his career 10-1 before encountering setbacks while switching between featherweight and lightweight and trading wins and losses. He settled at 155 pounds and entered Noche UFC in San Antonio riding a three-fight win streak. Ferreira applied constant forward pressure in the opening round while Hernandez circled and timed counters. Early in round two Hernandez accidentally poked Ferreira in the eye then later caught him with a right hand that knocked Ferreira down. Hernandez followed with heavy ground-and-pound and the referee stopped the fight at 3:46 of round two. The knockout extended Hernandez's streak to four and he is considering another fight before year-end.
