Cupertino City Council voted 4-1 against reconsidering the Mary Avenue Villas housing project, previously approved in February. Residents filed a lawsuit alleging rushed approvals and improper use of public land. A judge denied a request to halt the project, and settlement talks are scheduled. Councilmember R. Wang expressed concerns about the process, while Councilmember J.R. Fruen suggested the community could avoid litigation if plaintiffs withdraw their suit.
