Volodymyr Zelensky and first lady Olena Zelenska will meet Taoiseach Micheál Martin, President Catherine Connolly, and attend the Ireland‑Ukraine Economic Forum inauguration with Tánaiste Simon Harris. The visit occurs while the US presses Zelensky to sign a peace deal and after recent talks in the United Arab Emirates involving US, Russian and Ukrainian representatives. The visit follows the resignation of Ukraine's chief negotiator, Andrii Yermak, whose residence was searched by anti‑corruption investigators. Zelensky previously stopped in Ireland in February to refuel ahead of a Washington DC visit. The Taoiseach emphasized Irish support for the Ukrainian people and their defence of sovereignty.
