Oleksiy, an officer in the 14th brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard, seized a Russian motorbike after his unit repelled an attack near Pokrovsk. The unit has been fighting as the Russian army attempts to encircle the city; soldiers waited for better weather before leaving positions and narrowly escaped a Russian drone. Negotiations over Donbas raise fears of territorial concessions in exchange for a ceasefire. The Russian advance northeast of Pokrovsk pushed the front toward Dobropillia. Ukrainian forces have liberated some settlements, but the area remains under constant fire and many civilians are fleeing.
