Grace Lynch, 16, died after being struck by a scrambler bike while walking to meet friends on the Ratoath Road in Finglas. More than a thousand people retraced a route she walked from Valley Park estate to Plunkett Green, led by her mother Siobhan carrying a sign reading "justice for Grace." The crowd sang, released pink balloons and attended a vigil as Siobhan pledged to fight to remove scramblers and scooters from the streets and to launch a campaign, saying watching her daughter take her last breath was the worst pain imaginable. Gardaí arrested a man in his late teens and have seized multiple scrambler bikes in Finglas and Ballymun. Friends described Grace as bubbly and the life and soul of the party; the community expressed devastation.
