Warning of flood risk across whole country whether or not a yellow rain alert is in place

"Following recent rainfall, many rivers remain close to or above bank-full levels. As heavy rainfall is expected tonight and throughout Wednesday - with the highest totals forecast for the south, east, northeast, and midlands - this additional rainfall may trigger further flooding, given current ground and river conditions," it said. 'Flooding is a risk across the country due to the current conditions. Whether or not a yellow rain warning is in place for a county, all areas will remain at risk of flooding."

"A Status Yellow wind warning was issued for Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Louth. This warning will come into force at 11pm on Tuesday and will remain in force until 1pm on Wednesday. Met Éireann has advised of possible wave overtopping, fallen trees and loose debris, as well as difficult travelling conditions in these counties. A separate Status Yellow rainfall warning has been issued for Cork, Waterford, Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, Waterford and Leinster -"

"A Status Yellow rain and snow warning was issued for Donegal from 2am on Wednesday until 2pm. The national forecaster has warned of heavy rain turning to sleet or snow. The good news is that the rainfall will herald milder weather with overnight temperatures climbing above freezing after the Arctic weather of last weekend."

Three separate Status Yellow warnings—rain, wind and rain-and-snow—are in place across 18 counties in the southeast and parts of the northwest. Strong winds will affect Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Louth from 11pm Tuesday to 1pm Wednesday, with risks of wave overtopping, fallen trees, loose debris and difficult travel. Heavy rain is expected from 11pm Tuesday through 11pm Wednesday with highest totals in the south, east, northeast and midlands, increasing flood risk where rivers are near or above bank-full. A rain-and-snow warning for Donegal runs 2am–2pm Wednesday with heavy rain possibly turning to sleet or snow. Overnight temperatures will rise above freezing, bringing milder conditions.
