Vacant light heavyweight title at stake in UFC 327 main event
"Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will vie for the vacant light heavyweight crown in the UFC 327 headliner, the Las Vegas-based promotion announced Friday night. UFC 327 takes place on April 11 at the Kaseya Center in Miami and will also see Joshua Van defend the flyweight strap against Tatsuro Taira in the evening's co-main event."
"Prochazka enjoyed a brief championship reign at 205 pounds in 2022 when he captured the belt with a fifth-round submission of Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. "BJP" was forced to vacate the title later that year after suffering a shoulder injury. The 33-year-old Czech Republic native has twice challenged for the belt since then, falling to Pereira via technical knockout at both UFC 295 and UFC 303."
"Ulberg, meanwhile, has won nine consecutive UFC outings since dropping his promotional debut to Kennedy Nzechukwu in March 2021. A memorable 2025 propelled the City Kickboxing representative to the top of the contender's queue, as he earned victories over former champ Jan Blachowicz and ex-title challenger Dominick Reyes."
UFC 327 will crown a new light heavyweight champion as Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg compete for the vacant 205-pound title on April 11 in Miami. Prochazka previously held the light heavyweight crown in 2022 after submitting Glover Teixeira but vacated due to shoulder injury. He has since lost twice to Alex Pereira but recently defeated Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree. Ulberg has won nine consecutive UFC fights and earned his title shot with victories over Jan Blachowicz and Dominick Reyes in 2025. Joshua Van will defend the flyweight title against Tatsuro Taira in the co-main event. Additional fights confirmed include Beneil Dariush versus Manuel Torres, Patricio Freire versus Aaron Pico, Mateusz Gamrot versus Esteban Ribovics, and Kelvin Gastelum versus Vicente Luque.
