Andriy Yermak resigned after anti-corruption authorities raided his home, removing the expected lead negotiator from the delegation. Yermak, long seen as the second-most powerful person in Ukraine, texted associates that he was going to the front in eastern Ukraine. National security adviser Rustem Umerov now leads the Ukrainian team in Miami ahead of talks at Shell Bay golf club. The Ukrainian delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ambassador Olha Stefanishyna, Gen. Andrii Hnatov and intelligence officials. The U.S. team includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Witkoff and Kushner. Geneva talks left only territory and security guarantees unresolved, and the White House seeks to close those gaps while diplomacy continues.
