"In western cities like Lviv, far from Ukraine's frontlines, resentment toward TCK mobilization units seems to be growing. Officers say the work is deeply unpopular and psychologically crushing, but insist they have no alternative as the frontline remains in urgent need of soldiers. Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Warsaw to meet Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk to strengthen political support. Poland has been a major backer of Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, but rising antagonism toward Ukrainian refugees has shifted some right-wing voters toward Nawrocki's base. Russian President Vladimir Putin said he sees no readiness from Ukraine for peace. The EU agreed to fund a €90 billion loan for Ukraine. In western Ukrainian cities, resentment toward mobilization units is growing; officers call the work unpopular and crushing while authorities investigate allegations of violent detentions.
