He emphasized the need for reliable security guarantees to ensure lasting peace for Ukraine and broader European security. Klingbeil said Berlin is coordinating closely with international partners and pledged that Germany will fulfill its responsibilities, remaining Ukraine's second-largest global supporter and the largest in Europe. He urged Putin to show interest in peace, called for a ceasefire, insisted Ukraine must be involved in talks, and plans meetings with government, parliament and civil society.
