German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul views the US peace proposal as a list of issues requiring urgent discussion. The US-backed plan would require Ukraine to give up land, cut its army and not join NATO. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is reported to take part in a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the proposal. Former Chancellor Olaf Scholz will testify at an inquiry into the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said preliminary talks have occurred and called the coming weeks decisive. Russia reported 33 Ukrainian drones shot down overnight.
