Regional officials have yet to comment publicly on the attack, but sources told RFE/RL's Caucasus.Realities that at least four more explosions occurred in Russia's North Caucasus after a drone attack struck the high-rise complex, which houses government offices."
A suspected Ukrainian drone attack struck the Chechen capital, Grozny, early on December 5, creating a large hole in a high-rise less than one kilometer from Ramzan Kadyrov's residence. Sources reported at least four additional explosions in Russia's North Caucasus that damaged an empty police station in Gudermes and an FSB building in Achkhoy-Martan; no deaths were reported. Ukrainian negotiators met with US special envoy Steve Witkoff to obtain details of his Kremlin talks with Russian officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine seeks full information and remains prepared to work constructively with partners to achieve a dignified peace. Neither US nor Russian officials have publicly released details of the Moscow discussions.
