Officers were seen at his Sandringham residence and Thames Valley Police confirmed searches in Norfolk had concluded. UK media identified the individual as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, the brother of King Charles. Andrew had known associations with Jeffrey Epstein. He left a police station about eleven hours after arrest. King Charles said the royal family would cooperate with authorities but that it would not be appropriate for him to comment further.
