US President Donald Trump told his Polish counterpart that the United States was ready to increase its military presence in Poland. Trump welcomed President Karol Nawrocki to Washington with a flyover of US F-16 jets honoring a Polish pilot who died in a crash. Trump affirmed continued US deployment and pledged support, saying troops would not be removed and offering to add more if requested. Warsaw has long sought greater US forces; the first permanently stationed US troops arrived in March 2023 and about 8,000 troops are now garrisoned in Poland.
