Three Russian MiG-31 fighters entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland. The incident follows two earlier NATO airspace incursions in a fortnight when drones crossed into Poland and Romania. Estonia summoned the Russian charge d'affaires and delivered a protest note. Estonia recorded four prior airspace violations this year and described the triple-fighter incursion as unprecedentedly brazen. NATO condemned the incursion and scheduled the North Atlantic Council to meet in Estonia early next week. The United States expressed displeasure and indicated an imminent briefing on the situation.
