Travel headache across East Coast as tropical storm sparks mass delays

A tropical storm in the Gulf has resulted in significant ground stops and extensive delays at major airports along the East Coast. The Federal Aviation Administration has implemented multiple ground stops, particularly affecting airports in New York, Florida, and Washington DC. Over a dozen primary airports are experiencing delays of up to three hours. New York's JFK and LaGuardia airports are among the hardest hit. Newark Liberty Airport has grounded all flights until 5pm, resulting in an average delay of over three hours. Other affected airports include Boston Logan and Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
An impending tropical storm in the Gulf has set off a chain reaction of ground stops and lengthy delays at major airports along the entire East Coast.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has extended multiple ground stops at airports in New York, Florida, and Washington DC.
More than a dozen major airports are currently with ground delays which are snarling airport traffic and delaying flights by up to three hours in some cities.
New Jersey's Newark Liberty Airport has also ground all flights until 5pm, which the FAA said has caused delays of 201 minutes - a staggering three hours and 21 minutes.
