"The woman (30s) died this morning following a collision involving a HGV and a car on the N2 at Mullaghnee, Annalitten, Castleblayney in Co Monaghan that occurred at approximately 8am. She was the driver of the car and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body was removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course."
"It comes as a man, aged in his 20s, died following a two-car collision on the N21 at Ballymurragh West in Co Limerick that occurred at approximately 12.50am today. A driver in his 20s died in a two‑car crash on the N21 in Co Limerick; three teenagers sustained serious injuries and were hospitalised, and another man in his 20s had non-life-threatening injuries. Another man in his 20s died in a single‑vehicle crash on the N24 in Tipperary. Post-mortems have been scheduled. Road safety campaigners warned that continued fatality rates could make 2025 one of the deadliest years on Irish roads.
