"When the group were followed and eventually stopped, they were then subject to an alleged attack and later taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment. The incident took place on the Aghfarrell Road in Brittas, a rural village in south Dublin near the Co Wicklow border. One of the men, Muhammad, told RTÉ's Today with David McCullagh he and his friends realised they were being followed after stopping for petrol in Brittas village on Sunday afternoon."

Three friends left Kilbride Camp Ipas centre to go to a shop in the Tallaght area. They stopped for petrol in Brittas and realised they were being followed. After stopping and getting out, an apparent confrontation escalated when three motorcycles and a Volkswagen Golf arrived, and about 12–14 people began beating them and breaking all the car windows. The victims sustained head, face and stomach injuries and were taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment. Two women at the scene shouted, prompting the attackers to flee. A report has been made to gardaí and the incident received condemnation.
