"The revelation came as Met Éireann issued a fresh Status Yellow rainfall warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford with a specific risk of localised flooding due to saturated ground being unable to cope with further downpours. Met Éireann said the alert will come into force from the early hours of Thursday and will be valid until the early hours of Friday."
"Northern Ireland has also issued a Status Yellow rainfall alert for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry which will remain in force from the early hours until 6pm on Friday. A major flood clean-up operation began across Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Louth, Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Monaghan with one business in Enniscorthy estimating losses of over €100,000 due to property damage, equipment repair and spoiled stock."
"Major flooding occurred across the Dodder, Slaney, Blackwater and Fane river valleys as Storm Chandra involved exceptionally heavy rainfall in a concentrated period of time - with over 80mm falling in one area. This resulted in an unexpected and rapid surge in river levels, particularly the River Dodder in Dublin and Slaney in Wexford. A flood relief scheme in Rathfarnham in Dublin is incomplete."

Storm Chandra brought exceptionally heavy, concentrated rainfall—over 80mm in one area—causing major flooding across the Dodder, Slaney, Blackwater and Fane valleys and rapid river surges. Enniscorthy was effectively cut off for over 36 hours, with almost 400 homes and businesses hit and one trader estimating losses over €100,000. Flood relief or defence schemes remain incomplete or unplanned in affected locations. A major clean-up operation is underway and Gardaí closed off parts of towns.
