The Ventura County Sheriff's Office received a 911 text shortly before midnight on Saturday that detailed a stabbing at Jackson Camp, a rugged campground in an unincorporated area of Santa Paula.
Authorities decided to transport first responders to the scene by air because of the challenging terrain and the severity of the incident.
Deputies arrested the suspect on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and airlifted him to Santa Paula Hospital for an evaluation before he was booked at the county's Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
