""She made sure that everyone felt like she was with them, that she got a high five or handshake, or just had a little conversation with them. I really enjoyed it," Sophia said."
""We were all lined up outside, and we were chanting her name, and we were talking with her. She's really nice, and I like how she openly supports Palestine. "She's making Irish language the main language at the Áras an Uachtaráin, and she's trying to promote it as much as she can so more people would want to learn it and get back to what the language was before the English took over, so that they can have their origin language back.""
The visit was President Connolly's first official engagement since her inauguration as the tenth president of Ireland. She learned Irish as an adult and described Gaelscoil Inse Chór, located in the Irish National War Memorial Gardens, as an exemplary school. Pupils prepared Tricolour flags and coloured pictures to decorate a guard of honour for her arrival. Children described her as really nice and very kind; sixth-class pupil Sophia Ní Bhrasail said Connolly made sure each child received a high five, handshake, or brief conversation. Pupils discussed camogie and keepie-uppies; one pupil noted Connolly's support for Palestine and efforts to make Irish the main language at the Áras an Uachtaráin.
