"The vessel, Dashan was sailing using the flag of the Comoros Islands in the economic zone of Ukraine whilst heading toward the Novorossiysk port terminal and had its transponder switched off, the SBU confirmed. The Dashan suffered severe damage as a result of the brilliant attack which led to powerful explosions in the Black Sea. The oil tanker had around $60 million of oil products onboard, according to sources and the ship is no longer functional."
"Sea drones struck the Russian "shadow fleet" tanker Dashan in the Black Sea. "The vessel, flying the flag of the Comoros, was sailing in Ukraine's exclusive economic zone en route to the port terminal Novorossiysk. The tanker suffered critical damage and is reportedly out of operation. "It is reported that the approximate value of such a tanker is $30 million, while a single voyage could carry petroleum products worth around $60 million."
Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) launched the Sea Baby naval drone that struck the tanker Dashan, causing powerful explosions and rendering the ship nonfunctional. The operation involved the SBU's 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and the Ukrainian Navy. Dashan sailed under the Comoros flag within Ukraine's exclusive economic zone toward Novorossiysk with its transponder off. Sources estimate the tanker carried about $60 million in petroleum products and that a tanker value is roughly $30 million. The SBU said the strike formed part of efforts to reduce Russia's petrodollar revenues by targeting shadow-fleet vessels circumventing sanctions. The SBU reported this is the third shadow-fleet tanker disabled in two weeks.
