It is understood the man, aged 27, is from Italy and that the alarm was raised by his girlfriend at around 8.20pm. Two Coast Guard Helicopers, Rescue 115 from Shannon and Rescue 117 from Waterford were involved in the search, which resumed at first light today."

Two Coast Guard helicopters, Rescue 115 from Shannon and Rescue 117 from Waterford, were involved in the search, which resumed at first light. Both RNLI lifeboats from Baltimore joined the search, alongside Civil Defence and garda. Some of the man's climbing gear was found at the top of the cliffs. Further updates are expected.
