The Ukrainian Air Force reported on January 30 that Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 111 attack drones at Ukraine, including Zaporizhzhya. None of the strikes hit Kyiv. The attacks followed US President Donald Trump's statement that he had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to refrain from striking Kyiv and other towns until February 1. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Trump made a personal request to Putin to pause strikes until February 1 to create favorable conditions for peace negotiations, but Peskov did not mention energy sites or civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine would stop targeting Russian energy infrastructure if Russia agreed to the same.
