Rockland County officials shut down Morah Chany's Daycare for operating without a license and putting children at risk. The facility, which opened in June, did not have required permits or safety inspections. Inside, officials discovered thirty children in a dangerous environment, an unfinished basement containing gas cans. Reports indicated that infants as young as three months attended this facility, and witnesses noted that the children's cries could be heard above in a neighboring vape shop. The daycare had numerous code violations and had failed to follow licensing procedures.
Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann described the conditions inside the daycare as "horrendous," with thirty children in an unfinished basement that housed gas cans, which is unacceptable. Children as young as three months were reportedly attending this illegal facility.
The day care's website claimed to provide a safe and loving environment, but the reality was starkly different, with multiple code violations and a total disregard for safety regulations.
